Who We Are

 

The Ambai Arts College Came into existence in July 1969 as an outcome of the hard efforts of Thirthapathi Higher Secondary school Electorate,and is now governed by the Thirthapathi Higher Secondary School and Ambai ARts Collefe Elctorate,Ambasamudram. The College Started Functioning from 11.7.1969 as per proceedingd of the Director of college education,Madras - 6 vide Director's Proceedings R.C.No.79600 S2/68 dt13-10-1970.At the time of inception,the college offered different courses at the pre-university level.

Upgrading of the college took place with starting of BA.,Economics Major With a Sanctioned strength og 64 in the year 1973. Subsequently B.com.,degree course was intriduced in the year 1975 with a sanctioned strength og 64. The post-graturate course in economics was started in the year 1984 with a sanctioned strength of 20.Certificate course in gandian Thought was introduced in the year 1991, with a sanctioned strength og 25.

The college became a Co-Educational institution in the year 1976. Under Self-Finance steam B.Com.,(C.A) was introduced in the year 2008-2009, with a sanctioned strength of 36 students.

In the year 2009-2010 BCA(SF) was introduced with a sanctioned strength of 36.During the year 2013-14 B.Com (SF) was started with a sanctioned strength of 60.B.A, English (SF) was started this year (2016-17) with a sanctioned strength 364.

The College is affiliated to the Manonmaniam Sundaranar University,Tirunelveli and stands for the pursuit of sound learning,the building of character and for the enlightenment of spiritual truth.The College imparts education to the Students to mould them up to become better citizens of our country.
